Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on Friday inaugurated 12 national highway projects worth Rs 8,000 crore and seven CRIF projects in Hyderabad.

The total length of the 12 projects is 460 kilometers.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways of Telangana said the NH projects will enhance interstate connectivity by enabling seamless travel from Telangana to Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

“The rapid development of the highway will boost trade and commerce in the region and create sustainable employment opportunities for young people,” the statement said.

Furthermore, the state government said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state-of-the-art and safe national highway network constructed will have a transformational impact on the socio-economic prosperity of the people of Hyderabad and Telangana.

Speaking on the occasion, Gadkari said road transport in the city is important in the development of tourist centers in Aurangabad district which is a major tourist destination in the state.

Gadkari dedicated Sunday to the nation 86 km of roads on the national road no. 52 is worth Rs 3,216 crore here. He also laid the foundation stone for four other road projects here worth Rs 2,253 crore.
